I ordered from a company called Personal Creations and then when I checked my credit card bill I discovered a charge from UMG Buyersedge. I called the credit card company and they called UMG. The man on the phone explained to me that I had inquired about information after ordering from Personal Creations and that automatically signed me up for this discount program. He then tried to talk me into keeping this service. I told him that I had no intention of keeping the service because I was conned into it. He assured me I would get my money back. I just wanted the 'free' $50 Visa/MC card that I would receive, 'just for trying out the program!", and had every intention of canceling the program once I got the card. I received my membership paperwork yesterday, and went on line to do a little research. So glad I did -- the *** with the gift card (which I now doubt I would have gotten anyway)...I just cancelled my membership. The number I called was 1-866-424-7100, and the customer service rep gave me a cancellation number. I will be watching my credit card statement VERY carefully. |

After some calling and yelling we managed to get $59 refunded. Now we're gonna track down the asshats who gave these guys our info. |

Looked them up and found lots of fraudulent activity on them. Disputed the charges with CC company. Incidentally, right around the same time that these charges went on my statement - SOMEONE tried using my credit card number to charge darn close to $8,000. Had to close that account and get a new card. Could UMG have been responsible for that, too - since they obviously had my credit card number? Hard to say - but, something smells rotten here. Reported the possible connection to my credit card company for their investigation. |

I called the number on my credit card statement and talked to Ricky in Member Services. He identified me from the caller-ID service they have.....spooky. He agreed to credit me the $11.99.
