Washing RTG Slipcovers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We bought the Cindy Crawford Beachside slipcovered sleep sofa last year. I think the color was called sand.

It is a whitish beige color. I was VERY nervous about keeping it clean because we have two large dogs. I was always putting sheets, etc on the sofa but still wound up with a few stains. My efforts to spot clean resulted in bigger brown rings.

The salesman was adamant that the material should not be washed. I figured it was ruined anyway so thought I'd take it all off and throw it in the washer. I used cold water, Gain detergent and Oxyclean spray stain remover on the stains. When the cycle was complete we hung all the pieces up to dry.

The fabric did NOT shrink and all the stains and rings came out! Once dry, we put the sofa back together and it looks like it did when it was brand new. So YES !!

You can wash the slipcovers with no adverse result !

I am as pleased as I can be.NO BLEACH or bleach alternatives!! Good luck !

Preferred solution: I'm good. I just want others to know that the fabric can be washed

User's recommendation: In my case, washing was very successful

What a load of.. C as soon as buyers edge get the invoice they start wanting that money.. I think as soon as you hit agood credit rating NOT just with B.E with anyone the fee should waived .. just greedy companies everywhere... as the rich get richers.. the low income get no pats on the back.for making them richer .

I can't even get a replacement card!

Utterly hopeless. I have contacted Buyer's Edge for a replacement card FOUR TIMES by telephone and once by letter. My card expired in 2013, I wasn't automatically sent a replacement and this is all I'm requesting but it's obviously in the "too hard" basket. The last operator even triumphantly told me he could see what I wasn't getting my new card, that he had fixed the problem and I could expect my card "definitely" "within the next 3 to 5 working days". Three weeks later...you guessed it! Utterly inept, uncaring and unprofessional. They don't even have any record that you've contacted them before!

Dear Ms. Whitelaw: This happened to me, too.

I am an attorney and when I called the company I told them that if they did not credit all the fees they had charged me, I would sue them. I did some research and, in addition to coming across your name and complaint, as it turns out, Buyer's Edge already was a defendant in a class action lawsuit and as part of the settlement of that case, they promised to stop this conduct. Despite that promise, they have continued their fraudulent conduct. Another class action suit is obviously required.

Please contact me about this. Kerry E.

They have also scammed me, telling me I ordered something over the phone. (I don’t buy things over the phone) I asked what did I buy, they don’t know.

They offered to credit my account $21.99 for the 2 months they charged me and the rep said there was a travel membership as well for $19.99 which they will credit also.

And cancel any membership (that I never authorized). Something should be done about this type of scam.

Charged my debit card $149.00 without my knowing

Two weeks ago, I noticed a charge for $149.00 dollars on my debit card with a name I didn't recognize. I called the phone number listed for the company Buyer's Edge. I spoke to a rep. who said I signed up for their services. She had to explain what they were because I hadn't any idea who they were. I told her I didn't sign up for this service and I asked for proof that I had and that I had used it. She said she would refund the amount to my account. I started checking previous years and found out my card started being charged in 2008! Not counting this year, that is about $550.00 they owe me. So far, I have spoken to two reps, two supervisors and am waiting to hear back from a manager regarding a refund (I am sure I won't hear from one). This company has committed fraud which I am reporting to the BBB, consumer affairs and I am filing a suit against them in small claims court. I am telling everyone I know to beware of this company and they are all helping me to get the word out. I see by the complaints listed the same thing has happened to other unsuspecting consumers. THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE BUSINESS! Please help us get the word out there to not do business with this company!

OMG. So, I just got off the phone with 'Buyer's Edge' (yeah, knife in the buyer's back is the 'edge' they're talking about!)

I received a post card this week stating that my 'membership' was about to be renewed(!).

Wha...? I have no membership to any Buyer's Edge, right? Wrong - but wait, it gets better - apparently, they are not 'at liberty' to discuss what product I ordered over the phone, BUT, I (supposedly) did agree to a membership to Buyers Edge. I'm betting it was offered as a free trial membership, which changed to a 'bonafide' membership in 30 days or some such baloney.

Well, in any case, even though I CANNOT BELIEVE that I would EVER have agreed to even a FREE trial, I DO KNOW that the ONLY thing I bought over the phone in the last year was the Brazilian Butt Lift video - what a total SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! So, no I can't get my money back, but yes, hopefully I prevented them from charging me an additional $159.99 Such SCAMMERS should be ASHAMED of themselves!!!

I would try not to deal with buyers Edge. Their credit is controlled by G.E (General Electric).

I heard from legal aid that they jam the courts with more small claims than any other. Good luck.

Buyers Edge Buyer Beware

I, as well, ordered an "available" gas dryer from these scheisters. Should have known the price was too good to be true; free shipping, no tax. Received an email from "Justin T." that my order had been cancelled. When I called to talk to him, was told he no longer worked there, yet he had supposedly sent my email 10 minutes prior. Perhaps they just wanted my credit card info; that is my guess. They bill under the name "Butterfly Electronics"? Why change the name of your company if you truly are legit? Somebody needs to shut these folks down!!!!

Buyers Edge and My Advisor

I was called and told just for previewing their services for 30 days I would receive a walmart giftcard...then when i sent the voucher in for my giftcard they refused to send it to me because I cancelled. Well I had to cancel unless I wanted to pay all kinds of extra fees for a month of service... They purposely take 4-6 weeks to process the payment so if you cancel before then they don't send you any of the vouchers promised meanwhile when i said i would look at the programs i had pay 2 or 3 dollars for the shipping of the vouchers that were never sent.... As far as I am concern they are *** artists and its a scam..... first to getyou to spend the 2 or 3 dollars the first month...then if you want yourgift you need to pay for one or to months of service... In total I was promised free gifts and gift cards amounting to 200.00 dollars and i received nothing and they took my money.

Buyersedge.com BS deals

Ordered an "available" clothes washer and dryer online, gave my credit card information and got an order confirmation. Three days later I get an email from Justin saying the items were not available and would I like to talk to a product specialist about replacements. I responded yes. The next day I get another email saying (and I quote) "I apologize. Justin is no longer with the company do to him taking orders we couldn't ship at this time. Your order was cancelled and not charged. We are sorry for any inconvenience but we recently changed trucking companies and do not have any one to delivery to your area." This the BEST company I know of for making excuses as to why they can't do an advertised deal!!!

Saved from UMG/Buyers Edge

I was talking to an on-line service center for rebates provided via issuing debit cards cedited with the rebate amount. After I got my problem straightened out, I was ready to ring off when the person assisting me began a "hard sell" for what turned out to be 3 different operations under the UMG/ Buyers Edge umbrella.

I usually just hang up when I get the "pitch", but this guy was so good at pushing the 'Special & No-Obligation Opportunities' that I decided to hang on & see where this whole thing was going. I knew the pitch was a hook, so I wasn't swallowing the bait, but I was definitely giving the fisherman a good run. So I smelled the rat, & I finally got him to divulge the Den of Rats aka UMG/Bueyers Edge. What saved me was Google Search & Pissed Consumer.

I Googled both UMG & Buyers Edge, & that's how I found Pissed Consumer. I joined PC in the midst of the pitch, & the comments from all of you good-hearted Pissed Consumers allowed me to see the light B4 I fell into the deep, dark abyss of the Scammer Helhole.

I'm pleased to report that (so far...) I was able to escape within the 30 days of parole UR offered B4 UR credit card is held ransom.

So many thanks & much appreciation to my fellow PCers! I'll keep you posted because I suspect that my sense of a permanent parole may be at least partly illusory.

UMG*$AHD has charged my acct since May and I never signed up for this or gave them my credit card.

UMG*$AHD has said I have been paying for this service since May and I never gave them authorization to bill me on my credit card. They have advised me they can refund me for two months only.

I think this is a real scam.

Unfortunately I have not been checking my bill too closely because I have seen this on my bill and figured it was something charged by my husband. I asked them what their company provided and they told me discounts on on line shopping, restaurants, travel, gifts, etc and I probably signed up over the phone.

I saw an odd $19.95 charge on my monthly statement. I too though that it was something my husband bought.

I called the phone # and gave the customer service rep the description UMG*(888)352****$AHD. She explainded to me that the $AHD meant pay ahead. I asked her what the charge was for. She said that it is for a subscription.

I asked her what was the subcription for? She said that she couldn't tell me exactly what the subcription was, but that the charge was releated to a program that was associated with the subsciption. Almost like you signed up for something, but didn't know that you did. She said that is for coupons, discounts etc.

I explained to her that we never recived any of the items she mentioned. She siad she could resend the "gift" package. Ah, no thanks. I said that I was going to call me credit card company and dispute the charge.

She told me that she could refund me all of the charges. Little did I realize how long they had been charging our account (close to (1) year).

I should be getting $ 201.45 back. Should....we shall see.

Guest

Ask for a supervisor I received a full refund after being told 2 months was all I could get back also.

Two weeks ago my prepaid debit card information was stolen and on 10/27 and 10/28 the thieves emptied my account of about $800.00. Luckily, I just happened to check my balance on 10/29/12 and found out they left me $8.00.

I am disabled and have my social security disability directly deposited into a Wall mart prepaid debit card. I still haven't received my money back and today they just started investigating the wrongful charges! On 10/29/12 NONE of the charges had gone thru yet and they were all pending.

I just can't understand why they paid UMG Buyers Edge which is a scam? Do you shop at "nomoreracks"?
